Decision-making is way too slow for anything.
Everyone treats it like someone else's problem.
It's all about riding on the technology built by people from the past, with no investment in new tech.
Too many loud old folks.

Small to medium-sized companies seem more fulfilling.

Big companies have such segmented tasks that it's said to be boring.

Some departments are slow, while others are insanely busy.
I'm in a crazy busy department now, kicking other departments into gear.

It might be fulfilling, but the pay is low.

I can't live on an annual income of 4 million yen.

Feels like we're just creating work for the sake of it.

Lots of pointless tasks and rules.
The internal regulations are overly complicated, and they don't educate the younger folks.
So, the old guys just push their rules around with big egos.

I hated that when I was young and switched jobs, but looking back, I think staying would've been more beneficial.

Even if you do things half-heartedly, you can make 10 million yen.

How does it feel to have fallen from grace?

I want to hear more about this.

Even in small to medium-sized companies, you can make around 8 million yen.

Some places are like that, probably niche top companies.
10: anonymous 2024/05/23 23:55:49 ID:0iXwaKkb0.net
But ventures are exhausting too.

Until they get on track, they're probably insanely black (overworked).

I'm at a mega-corporation with 300,000 employees, and even as a regular employee in my 30s, I make 8 million yen.

At our company, the numbers are smaller, but the salary is about the same.
30s regular employee: 6.5 million yen.
35s section chief: 7.5 million yen.
If you become a manager at 40, it's 10 million yen.

I found it boring, so I switched to a small to medium-sized company. I make around 5 million yen, but I'm pretty satisfied.
I wouldn't say it's fulfilling, but spending time on a job that felt like torture every day was tough.

In small to medium-sized companies, you can really focus on the necessary work.
The guys in the slow departments are always chatting loudly about pointless stuff, and it makes me want to scream.

When you hit your mid-30s, your passion for work starts to fade.
You get tired of trying to achieve self-fulfillment through work.
Then you start thinking it's better to stick with a big company.

This is how people get jaded and can't recover.
It's exactly what's happening with Japanese electronics manufacturers.

There's no horizontal connection.
I don't even know what other departments are doing.

I wish they would name the departments in a way that makes it clear what they do, instead of using weird katakana or alphabet names.

It's hard to keep pushing yourself just for your own sake.
Those who are married can push themselves for their wife and kids.
